  • Raid Guidelines  |  Friday, July 3, 2009 - 2:30 PM
This is an old list of stat minimums that we use as guidelines for minimum effectiveness in Naxxramas.  I've made some corrections and additions.
In general, an  IMBA  rating of 400 is a good starting place for the beginning Ulduar. Know your IMBA score and be able to compare it with the scores of the other members of the guild.   http://be.imba.hu

Requirements of All Raid Members
  • Always use the website calendar to sign up; the in game calendar is ignored.
  • If we are doing a 10-man raid at least 6 CoE members must be signed up. At least one tank and one healer in the group must be CoE members.
  • Be aware of the loot rules.
  • If you sign up and "no show" you will be bumped to the bottom of the SuicideKings list, making it harder for you to get gear.
  • Use of Ventrilo software.  At least be able to listen.
  • Deadly Boss Mods addon. Gives detailed information about boss abilities.
  • Omen addon. Gives detailed data about threat levels of each member of the raid.
  • Knowledge of each boss encounter, either through experience or research.
Minimum Requirement for Tanks ( 2 )
  • Defense Rating: 540 (Defense Cap) NOT NEGOTIABLE
  • Health: 32k
  • As much Avoidance as you can get, without sacrificing Defense and Stamina.
Minimum Requirement for DPS classes ( 5 )
  • 2500 single-target DPS.
  • A hit rating at least 70% of your class' cap.  Take in to account any talents that increase hit rating. Read http://childrenofeternity.wowstead.com/forums/thread/56  for more info on hit rating. Honestly, by this point everyone should be hit capped.
Minimum Requirement for Healers ( 3 )
  • Healers should have at least 2000 spell power.
  • 500 mana regen
Any questions?
1) How do I find out what my DPS output is?
  • Download the Recount add-on.
  • Find yourself a Heroic training dummy.
  • Buff up.
  • Unload.
  • Make a note of the DPS in the Recount window.
2) How can I find out the best build and combat rotation to maximize my role?
  • Find websites specific to your class (like retpaladin.com, The Warlock's Den, resto4life.com, etc.) and read the discussion forums.  Also, WoWWiki.com   has entries for each class with some strategies. WoWWiki also has info on talent builds.  Talentchic.com has an impressive list of the most popular builds and glyphs for each class, categorized by tree and purpose.
3) How can I find out where the loot that I need drops?
  • Download Atlas and AtlasLoot.  You can create a wishlist and start farming the bosses that drop the loot that you need.
4) I don't know anything about Ulduar!  How can I find out about it?
  • Again,   WoWWiki   and   Wowhead   are good resources.  Watch  TankSpot videos on Youtube.  Another good one is  World of Strats  .  THE MOST important thing you can do as a raid member is to be accountable for your own  research  about  boss strategies  .  Walking around dripping in epics helps a little, but  knowing the boss encounters  is by far the best way to ensure a successful raid. Successful = fewer wipes. DO NOT come to a raid without a  basic understanding of the boss encounters.
